For the first time the Romanian companies can buy certificates for the carbon footprint.
There’s a particular company in Romania which provide certificates on carbon footprint on voluntary market.
The companies or the natural persons, who ’s carbon footprints have been calculated, can choose to offset the emissions by acquiring the right certificates according to the first Romanian project listed on the voluntary market.
MaiMultVerde will be allowed to sell at least 28.000 certificates. One certificate on carbon footprint is estimated at 20 euro from a reforestation project.
There is also a mandatory market, where the companies have the legal obligation to buy green certificates if they cross the legal amount of CO2 emission.
Until now, Romania provided certificates only on the mandatory market, the voluntary one is now at the beginning and makes green projects developed in our country available.
